RACING My Fair Lady To Run At Vincent Meeting

My Fair Lady is to be returned to her Omakau owner, Mr F. J. Donnelly, who will campaign her at the Vincent Jockey Club’s meeting in January. She may not be perservered with if she fails to show form at Vincent. She earned open ranking in her racing from G. R. Felling’s Riccarton stable, but disappointed her connexions at Hororata last Saturday.

Canadians may be finished as a racing proposition. She was gallojid on when going well near the home turn in a hack sprint at Hororata, and a tendon was bared and bruised. Unless a good bit of scar tissue covers the tendon she will be a risky racing proposition. Canadians provided one of the highlights of last Grand National Steeples day at Riccarton when she won the Cashmere Plate under difficulties. Her bit broke early in the race, but F. H. Skelton managed to steer her without the use of reins and land her a narrow winner. Canadiana's owner-trainer, V. D. Clutterbuck, has hopes for another campaign by Cheyenne, but this oncebrilliant miler will first have a foot X-rayed. Tinina Fit Timna is fit to start his holiday racing at Wingatui He reeled off seven furlongs in Imin 30 2-ssec on the plough at Riccarton yesterday, finishing a good gallop with three furlongs in

37 l-ssec. He was ridden by the stable apprentice, M. J. Wildermoth. G. Gracefield’s pride made the fastest time for seven furlongs. With A. H. Eastwood up, she was going well on the outside of Keep (Mein) and Joyvine (Beck) finishing the distance in Imin 29 2-ssec, the last half mile in 50 1Joy vine was struggling early in the run home. Zinder (Wildermoth) worked away from the seven furlongs. He finished in Imin 34 2-ssec, and reeled off the final three furlongs in 37sec. He has strengthened with time and racing and developed good form at the New Zealand Cup meeting, where he won a high-weight. Royal Leigh (Mein) sprinted seven furlongs in Imin 30 2-ssec, the last three in 40 3-ssec. On Terms The stablemates Compensade (T. Wilson) and Quick Time (L. Williams) stayed on terms to the end of seven furlongs, run in Imin 33 2- They start their holiday racing at Wingatui.

McCool (C. McDonald) sprinted seven furlongs in Imin 33 2-ssec, and the final three in 39 2-ssec. He will race at the Dunedin Cup meeting, and will then run in the Timaru and Waikouaiti Cups. Seaend (Low) and Depending (Beck) were abreast finishing half a mile in 51 Tar Boy (A. H. Eastwood) was going keenly just ahead of Printer (Beck) after running half a mile in 50 4-ssec. On the trial grass, which was firm and fast, Candida (Mein) and Begame (Finlayson) sprinted seven furlongs in Imin 31 3-ssec, tile last four in 52 l-ssec. Begame’s stablemate Tanzy (Gould) accompanied Massakai (Low) over five furlongs, but was struggling to keep up. That was hardly surprising, for they recorded Imin 1 2-ssec. Magician (Reggett), the early favourite for the Dunedin Jockey Club’s Champagne Stakes, impressed when running half a mile in 50 l-ssec.
