Heavy Traffic In December (N.Z.. Press Association) WELLINGTON. December 13 December week-ends were again living up to their deadly reputation this year said the Commissioner of Transport (Mr A E Forsyth) today. So far this month, 14 persons had died in road smashes, nine at the weekends. Roed deaths for the year totalled 372, compared with 369 for the same period last year. "With the approach of Christmas, the tempo of traffic has started to build up and the need for care and vigilance on the road is now greater than ever,” said Mr Forsyth From now on the roads would be thronged with traffic, and any careless or thoughtless action could only lead to disaster.
