Railway Strike
Sir, —“H.J.E.” should have read the State Services Bill, and not only the misleading pamphlets distributed by union officials. The bill now before Parliament clearly gives better wage conditions to State servants. Communist unions thrive on discontent; therefore the Labour Party and other organisations have deliberately set out to keep State servants 'depressed. Their aim is to create and exploit the discontent of the workers. The National Government, by introducing legislation which will increase public service salaries and keep them in line with outside industry, will remove the cause of discontent, and the exploiters of it. It is the housewife who has to balance the budget. In Britain the majority of strikes are now averted by housewives holding mass meetings demanding their menfolk reject Communist strike orders. It is time the women played a bigger part in running industrial affairs in this country.— Yours, etc., A PUBLIC SERVICE WIFE. December 11, 1962.
