Interfered With Train Brakes

WELLINGTON, Dec. 12. A youth who leaned against a train door to “screen” two other youths while a brake tap was turned off was as guilty as if he had turned it off himself. said Mr J. R. Keane. S.M.. in the Magistrate’s Court at Lower Hutt yesterday. Donald Harvey Odlam. aged 17. an apprentice electrical fitter, was found guilty of interfering with the brakes of the Wellington-Taita unit on November 1. causing it to overshoot Ava station. He was remanded until December 17 for a probation report and sentence.
