The school had now reached full seniority, and in being ranked grade five it was equal In status to the largest schools in the country, said the headmaster of the Riccarton High School (Mr A. J. Gainstord) in his annual report at the school prize-giving yesterday. "Today is a very special day for the school in that we say farewell to the last of the foundation pupils." he said. “They are thanked for the example they have set to pupils in lower forms. Along with their schooling, with no-one above them, they have developed a dignity and climate of responsibility without which no school can succeed."
