Bush Fires In South Africa
(N2, -Reuter—Copyright; CAPE TOWN. December 12. At least 1000 fire-fighters, including sailors are fightmg bush fires threatening South Africa’s main naval base at Simonstown. 30 miles from Cape Town Fire-fighters were hampered bv hundreds of sightseers. The blaze was said to be the worst tn the memory of the naval town. Many homes are threatened by the fierce blaze, which is being fanned by fresh winds. Families are standing by ready to evacuate if the fire is not brought under control.
