Flights For 120 Pupils (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, December 4. Cruising at 165 miles an hour today a group of 120 pupils from the Onehunga High School looked through the windows of their "classroom” and saw their school 1200 feet below. Their classroom for the occasion was a Viewmaster aircraft which made four one-hour flights from Whenuapai carrying 30 pupils at a time. One or two teachers accompanied the pupils on each flight. The flight took pupils over the Waitakeres, Mangere, Meremere. Maramarua, Hunua. western Hauraki Gulf, Rangitoto and the city. The geography and history of these areas have been taught to the pupils over the last few weeks. Organised by the head social stndies and geography teacher, Mr A. L. Robey, and his colleague, Mr A. J. Dreaver, who teaches the same subjects, the flying classroom flight cost each pupil £2 plus 2s 6d for bus fares to and from the airport.
