STANDARD 7oz GLASS

Use In Hotels By Christinas (NX Pren Aeeoetation > WELLINGTON, Dec. 5. The first of a new stand-ard-shape 7os bar glass should be in New Zealand hotels before Christmas. They are being manufactured by a Christchurch firm for the Hotel Association of New Zealand. The glasses are not as thick or as tall at glasses now in use, but have a Up to guard against chipping. The association’s secretary, Mr J. J. Williams, today said the glasses would be supplied only to licensed hotel*. Standard glasses would be made in other sizes also, including the 3Mioz nip (spirit*) glass. Each glass would carry the association's badge and bear a number indicating its capacity. Standard glass jugs, with a flat decorative panel, were also planned to replace beer jugs now in use. Mr Williams said the glasses were made by a new blowing process instead of the farmer pressing process.
