BROODMARE OF YEAR
Dam Of Cadiz Selected (NX Press Association) WELLINGTON, Dec. 5. The council of the New Zealand Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association has named the 16-year-old Infinity as “Brood Mare of the Yeu” for the 1981-42 racing season. Infinity is by Airway from Pay Roll, and is owned by Mr A. Newman, of Brigbtwater. She is the dam of Cadiz, which won considerable publicity for New Zealand thoroughbred breeding by a series of wins soon after his arrival in California last year. The selection of a brood mare for the award was made for the association by Mr G. L. Tucker, keeper of the Stud Book, and Mr S. V. McEwen, racing editor of “Tbe Dominion,” Wellington.
