FORMER NAVAL OFFICERS

Reunion Next Year (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. Dec. 4. Former naval officers who served overseas and in New Zealand waters in World War II will hold a reunion in Auckland from July 26 to July 28 next year. An attendance of at least 500 is expected. The programme includes a series of social functions and a Sunday morning visit to the Devonport Naval Base, where the former officers will attend a memorial service at the chapel of St. Christopher. They will later visit naval ships and the shore establishment A majority of New Zealand war-time naval officers enlisted as ordinary seamen to New Zealand, spent a period as ratings with the Royal Navy, and were commissioned from H.M.S. King Alfred in Britain. They served in every class of ship in every theatre of the naval war.
