HURDLER SETS NZ RECORD
Schoolboy's Fast , Time (N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN, Dec. 5. ’ Running on a wet track at * the Caledonian Ground, Dunedin, R. V. Johnson, of 2 Otago Boys’ High School, tonight broke the New Zealand junior 220 yards hurdles record of 24.65ec by onetenth of a second. The record was established ’ at a special meeting at the Otago Centre organised after ' an attempt on the record last Saturday was marred by a strong following wind. This season Johnson has ’ set a new time of 14.1aec for the 110 yards junior hurdles ■ and had twice been inside the * national time for the longer . event. The latter times were not recognised because at the . following wind. »
