LANCASTER PARK

Full History Published

The development of Lancaster park from its meagre beginnings in 1880 until 1957 is described fully in a history published this week for the Victory Park Board. Previously, the history of the park had only been recorded up to 1935, but the new publication includes the full history under one cover. The history of the years from 1880 to 1935, which was first published many years ago, is written by the late T. W. Reese, and the years from 1935 to 1957 have now been added by R. T. Brittonden. All visits by touring teams, local sports gatherings, special functions, and war-tune use of the park by the Army are fully described in this history. The Victory Park Board has published toe volume to keep its records up to date.
