Geraldine Property A freehold farm of 533 acres, practically in its virgin state, was sold for £19.721 at public auction at Geraldine yesterday. The property was offered by Messrs Pyne, Gould. Guinness Ltd . on account of the estate of A. G. Macdonald. The auctioneer was Mr P. Finch. Bidding started at £2B an acre. The farm was finally sold at £37 an acre. With the exception of about 50 acres, which was cultivated about 40 years ago. the rest of the property had been mostly cleared of bush and left unploughed Buildings on the properly include a nine-roomed brick house, which is more than 100 years old. The rates on the farm, which is about two miles from the Geraldine Post Office, are £lll 5s sd. A city property, zoned Industrial B. at the corner of Antigua street and Balfour terrace, was passed in at £ 10.750 at public auction yesterday. The property was offered on a'ccoum' of the liquidator of the F. C. Cole Construction Company. The auctioneer was Mr D. Chapman. On the comer section of 11.4 perches there is a building 85ft by 30ft which has been divided into an office, workshop, and store. There is an adjoining vacant section of 16 perches in Balfour terrace. Bidding started at £9OOO There were two bids of £5OO, and three of £250
