Nehru And Pope Exchange Letters

(NXP A .-Reuter—Copyright) VATICAN CITY, Nov. 25. The Indian Prime Minister (Mr Nehru) has exchanged letters with the Pope over the Chinese-Indian border dispute. The Archbishop of Bombay, Valerian Cardinal Gracias, revealed this after returning to the Ecumenical Council from, an emergency trip to India. Cardinal Gracias had an audience with the Pope after his return. Indian sources in Rome said Mr Nehru had first sent a letter to Pope John requesting “an intercession for peace.” The Pope had sent a reply back with Cardinal Gracias and this had been followed by another letter from Mr Nehru.
