EXCLUSION OF ROWING

“Finished In Games” (Special Crspdt. N.ZP.A.) PERTH, November 26. "This just about finishes rowing in the Empire Games," said the assistant manager of the New Zealand rowing contingent, Mr E. A. Craies, of Auckland, when commenting today on the decision to exclude rowing from the next Games in Jamaica in 1966. Mr Craies said he felt a country should not be awarded the Games if it did not have a rowing course. New Zealand and Australia should get together more in future with more interDominion competition and concentrate on competing in the world championships. “New Zealand rowing is definitely improving and is in need of regular competition," Mr Craies said. The manager of the New Zealand bowling team, Mr C. H. Hain, expressed disappointment also at the exclusion of bowls from the next Games.
