“TV Not Solely To Blame” (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Nov. 25. Television was not solely to blame for the fall in motion picture attendance throughout the world, the managing-director of the Rank Organisations, Ltd., Mr K. K. Winckles, said in Auckland tonight Mr Winckles said the increased number of car owners and the popularity of outdoor entertainments were factors in smaller picture attendances, especially in suburban theatres. There was still a market for the spectacular productions and the better-quality films exhibited in the major theatres.
