Controlling A-Weapons

(N.Z. Press Asm.—Copyright) WASHINGTON, Nov. 25. The chairman of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (N.A.T.0.) Parliamentary Economic Committee (Senator Jacob Javits), a Republican, said today the United States should give Europe some form of control over nuclear weapons produced in the United States to prevent the Western Allies from forming their own “nuclear club.” Interviewed on a television programme, Senator Javits said if the United States cannot work out some form of giving the Allies at least partial control over nuclear weapons it could result in “seeing Europe go off on its own nuclear production under the leadership of France.”
