There was an excellent number of entries in a comprehensive programme at the inter-dub athletic meettag ait Rugby Park on Saturday but the standard of performances was little more than average. The University junior, B. Milne, caught the eye with tain 59.35ec for the halfmile, but few of the other events produced a comparable result. D. Mackenzie won the senior A grade 100 yards, with 10.3 sec, from I* Mack. These two met again in the last leg of the 4 x 110 yards relay where Mackenzie just headed Mack off in a tight Versatile Speden The versatile M. Speden, who has transferred from University to Technical, won the senior long jump with 20ft Bin and the 220 yards hurdles in 26.25ec. He was third in the vault behind C. Stricke and D. C. Leary. Leary, a former Otago champion, won the javelin with 165 ft lljta.
