British Soccer Burnley Beats Spurs 2-1

LONDON, November 34. Bumley won its top-of-the-league battle with Tottenham Hotspur, 2-1, in the English League soccer today. Everton beat Sheffield United. 3-0. and took over the first division leadership by two points from Burnley and Spun, who have 27 points each. Chelsea. 3-0 winner over the bottom club, Grimsby, kept its lead at the top of the second division. Two points behind is Bury, whose solid defence earned it a 0-0 draw at Derby. In the Association Cup. Gravesend was the only one of 10 "little" clubs to break through, beating the amateur Wycombe Wanderers. 3-1, at home. Another amateur team, Wimbledon, lost 2-1 to the third division Bristol City, and the amateur Enfield pushed Peterborough before losing, 1-0. In the Scottish first division. Partick Thistle maintained its challenge to Rangers by beating Celtic 2-0 at Parkhaad. Celtic played the same team that beat Rangers in midweek. which meant it was sticking to Its policy of giving youth its fling. Rangers recovered their form to beat Clyde, 3-L at Ibrox after being held to 1-1 at halfIt was a bad day tor Injuries in Scotland. R.
