Russia’s Food Supply
(N.Z.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright) MELBOURNE, Nov. 20. Russia could not go to war now because of one simple reason—she could not feed herself. The former United States Secretary of Agriculture (Mr Ezra Taft Benson) said this in Melbourne. He told reporters that “Russia makes 5-year plans and can’t fill them. They lack profit incentive and the access to free markets—necessary, as we know, in competitive production.”
