NAPIER, Nov. 20. When the accelerator pedal jammed on a car being parked by a 72-year-old Wellington man, Mr T. G. Roberta, in Emerson stree.t Napier, thia afternoon, the ear mounted the footpath, ripped a parking meter oat of the ground, pushed a new ear parked tai front into the rear of a lorry and came to rest touching a Chinese fruiterer’s window on top of a pile of “mashed” potatoes.

One of the passengers of the car pwriied into the track was a cripple but she had jnst entered the fruit shop before the incident.
