UMPIRES WANTED
(CRICKET associations seem to have a perpetual struggle to find umpires to officiate in their matches and the Christchurch Suburban Association is possibly worse off than most. Last season the association began the season with only seven umpires and later lost two because of illhealth. With little prospect this season of there being sufficient umpires to control more than three games, the association has made a further appeal for retired players to become umpires and serve a game they enjoyed
