The Canadian dollar again lost ground to the £ last week and has now lost 0.7 cents to the £ in the last two weeks. Other changes were small and fairly evenly divided between gains and losses by sterling. Altered telegraphic transfer exchange rates as advised yesterday by the Bank of New Soutli Wales yesterday were— N.Z. on— New York: buying, 2.7968 dollars to £NZI (compared with 2.7966 dollars on November 12); selling. 2.7651 dollars (2.7649). Montreal 3.0152 dollars (3.0117); 2.9766 dollars (2.9732). Italy 1745 lire (1746); 1708 lire (1709). Netherlands: 10.13 guilders (10.17); 9.91 guilders (9.93). Germany: DM. 11.27 (1128); DM 11.03 (same). Austria: 72.66 schillings (72.64); 71.11 schillings (71.09). Denmark; 19.40 crowns (19.47); 19 05 crowns (19.06). Norway: 30.11 crowns (20.13); 19 68 crowns (19.69). Sweden: 14 51 crowns (14.52); 14.30 crowns (14.21). Japan: 1009 yen (1008); 986 yen (985).

Business Personal

Mr M. Snyders, export sales manager for Commonwealth Industrial Gases, Ltd.. Sydney, will arrive in Christchurch today during a visit to New Zealand. While in New Zealand he is giving talks and demonstrations on the use of spray painting equipment in modern industry. Mr Snyders recently made a similar tour; of Asia.
