Aust. Airlines To Buy Jets

(N.Z. Press Assn. — Copyright) CANBERRA. Nov. 19.

Two of Australia’s big domestic airlines. Trans Australian Airlines and Ansett A.N.A., have been given Government approval to buy two Boeing 727 jet airliners each for service after July 1, 1964, the Civil Aviation Minister (Senator Shane Paltridge) announced today.

He said the airlines could introduce the four new jets into service on dates agreed by them after July 1. 1964. Senator Paltridge said the choice of the Boeing 727 was made by the airlines as a result of their own judgment. The new jets would take over much of the work now carried out by Electras and DC-6 B’s and Viscounts.

Executions. The Indonesian Army has executed the last of seven men accused of being involved in an attempt on the life of President Soekarno on May 14.—Djakarta. November 19.
