UNtVmiTY VACANCm THE AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE OF ADVANCED STUDIES DEPARTMENT OP NUCLEAR PHYSICS THE University proposse to make a number of appointments in the Department of Nuclear Physics (Head of Department: Professor E. W. Titterton. C.M.G.. F.A.A.). Among the post available are: Senior Fellowhip £A3OOO-£3SM Senior Reearch Fellowship, £A2BBB-£3lBO Fellowships £AMM-£3OOO Research Fellowship, £A1636-£M9O The Department ta well equipped with a 12 MeV Tandem electrostatic accelerator, a 1 MeV Van der Graaff generator, and a 1.2 MeV CockcroftWalton machine. Two precision particle spectrometers, a Buechner spectograph. crystal, solid state, gas and emulsion detectors with associated multichannel recording equipment are available for use with these machines. An 1.8. M. 1620 computer ta available for date reduction. The main fields of work are in nuclear structure studies. Superannuation to on the F.S.S.U. pattern.
