OUT FOR 3 MONTHS

Vanity Scott's

Condition

Vanity Scott was declared ineligible to start at a totalizator meeting for three months at Addington yesterday. This action was taken at an mquiry after the Canterbury Handicap, in which Vanity Scott stopped quickly and was pulled up with six furlongs to go. The club's veterinary surgeon was instructed to examine the mare. He reported that he found her to be suffering from a heart defect which rendered her unfit for racing. J. S. Dalgety was heard on behalf of the owner. P. G. O'Reilly, the trainer of Field Chief, was fined £lO for the late scratching of the horse in the Riccarton Stakes An objection against Spinster Scott’s fourth placing in the Worthy Queen Handicap was lodged after the race on the ground of galloping. It was dismissed after the evidence had been heard.
