ANTI-POLIO CAMPAIGN
7106 Doses In City
Poliomyelitis vaccine was given to 7106 persons in the city yesterday, bringing the total for the second leg of the campaign to 28,210. ‘There are only two days left in which the vaccine will still be available in central city stores, so I advise people to hurry,” said the medical officer of health (Dr. L. F. Jepson). The biggest issue of vaccine yesterday was again at Woolworths High street store. City clinics will be open today at the mass X-ray rooms (Manchester street), Christchurch railway station, the waiting-room in Cathedral square, the Health Department office in Hereford street, the W’oolston and Homby industrial clinics the central city stores of Bailantynes. Hay’s, Miller’s, Woodworth’s. and The Farmers’, the National Airways freight depot, the motor vehicle registration branch of the Chief Post Office in Hereford street, and the St. John Ambulance Association headquarters in Peterborough street. In country areas, clinics will be held today at the Little Akaloa Plunket rooms, Oaro and Corrway Flat schools, the Lobum North and Sefton hails, and at the Ashley Forest headquarters.
