Award For Film On Hepworth

John Read s film on the British sculptor. Barbara Hepworth. in his 8.8. C. television series entitled "The Artist Speaks,” was recently awarded first prize in the sculpture category at the Venice Festival of Art Films. John Read worked in close co-operation with Barbara Hepworth at her studio and the surrounding neighbourhood at St. Ives, Cornwall, and the film showed the widest selection of her work ever assembled. A film made by John Read about the sculptor, Henry Moore, won a first prize at Venice in 1951
