Priority To Industry In Bulgarian Plans
< .V Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) SOFIA, November 5. The Bulgarian Communist Party opened its eighth congress in fla§-bedecked Sofia today under the eye of experienced Soviet and Chinese theoreticians.
Mam topics for discussion are expected to be de-Stalin-isatiorr and the new 20-year development plan. Some observers believe the congress will weed out a number of ■■unreformed Stalinists” from the party’s 89-member committee.
This is because of internal resistance to the liberalisation efforts of the party leader. Mr Todor Zhivkov, who returned recently from a flying visit to Moscow.
