Suspension For Referendum (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) PARIS, October 15. The Secret Army leader, Antione Argoud, said in a letter delivered to a French news agency today that the underground “National Council of Resistance” had suspended attempts on President de Gaulle’s life pending the referendum on October 28. The letter, postmarked Lyons, said the council “has decided to suspend operations aimed at physically suppressing General de Gaulle until the French people has pronounced its verdict. The council and the Secret Army call on Frenchmen to vote ‘No.’ ” Both organisations were also watching the National Assembly elections which will follow next month, the letter said.
