Sky High Wins Stakes

(NX Press Assn.—Copyright) MELBOURNE, Oct. 17. The Australian champion sprinter, Sky High, scored another brilliant win in the £3OOO Caulfield Stakes at Caulfield today. Sky High, ridden by G. Moore, set a blistering pace throughout and won by a length from the heavilybacked Caulfield Cup fancy, Le Storm, in time equalling the Australian record for nine furlongs. In third place was the veteran New Zealand-bred gelding Lord, which won the event two years ago. Sky High’s time, Imin 49 2/ssec, also equalled the Caulfield record held by Webster. The Caulfield Cup favourite, Aquanita, tailed the field most of the way, then put in a great run in the straight to finish fourth. The top-weight, Anonyme, winner of the Caulfield Invitation Stakes last month, broke down badly. Lord was first away and led for a few strides until Sky High, urged along by Moore, took up the running. River Seine was prominent meet of the way without ever challenging the leader.
