MAN PINNED BY CAR
Rescue After Ten Hours A young farm worker was pinned to the ground by a car gn his arm for 10 hours after an accident on Tuesday night. His arm was caught when the car turned on its side. The accident occurred on a gravel road in the Punawai district, east of Valetta, some miles from Ashburton. The driver of the car was Russell James Morrison, aged 22, of Punawai. He was admitted to the Ashburton Public Hospital suffering from shock and arm injuries, and his condition at the hospital last night was described as satisfactory. ■ Ashburton police said the accident occurred about 10.30 p.m. on Tuesday, but it was about 3 a.m. yesterday before he was discovered. Mr Morrison was admitted to the hospital at 9.10 a.m.— almost 11 hours after the accident. He was the only person in the car, which was not very extensively damaged.
