It wag a most'peculiar Dream. 1 dreamt I stood in the Dock Charged with selling Liqueur Chocolates After Six o'clock! I was further charged with having supplied To a 12-year-oid Beginner One Chocolate, Benedictine-flavoured, BEFORE, not WITH, his Dinner; And arising out of the same Affair, 1 was further charged that These Illicit Fillings weren’t N.Z. made, . But concocted Overseas. I heard Myself plead Guilty To selling or serving at Table Genuine Sherry from Spain, disguised With a Plonko Fino Label. And the Wine inspector’s Evidence Was damningly complete I’d exceeded the Limit by one half Glass Per Person per Course per Seat Oh, what a terrible List I had When the Court bad done with Me! Before and after and with those Meals, “Guilty" was my Plea. Not WITH the Meal and without a Permit, I’d served them Wine or Beer BEFORE the Soup and AFTER the Nuts. • It was going to cost me dear! And then I woke . . . And I ask You, Sir, How much Liquor would it take .To send Us half as silly as the Laws Our sober Solons make?
