M. Hamilton. Secretary of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research. has left to attend a meeting of the Commonwealth Scientific Organisation in New Delhi.—(PA.) Mr N. C. O- Butcher has been appointed a member of the Licensing Control Commiasioa for five years. He replaces Mr F. P. Kelly, who has retired. * Mr Q. T. Thom, senior training • within • industry officer attached to the Department of Labour tn Christchurch. will work for a year for the International Labour Organisation in Bagdad.
The Rev. J. C. England has been reappointed assistant minister to St. Columba Presbyterian Church with special responsibility to the Burwood United Church for one year.
Mr W. C. Schutt. Qantas Empire Airways manager for New Zealand has been appointed manager in Fiji. Captain J. Soly, a former Qantas pilot and at present manager in Fiji, will replace Mr Schutt—(PA.)
Dr- W. S. Simpson. a member of the staff of the Wool Research Organisation, who is stationed at present at the Dominion Laboratory to Wellington, will go to Australia for three weeks, probably early next month, under the auspices of the organisation to study research developments.
