LEADING SCORERS
TIE Canterbury fullback, W. F. McCormick, was one of four players to score a century of points in the Rugby season just ended. Only the third Canterbury footballer to achieve the distinction. McCormick reached the threefigure mark in the Taranaki game, the last of the home representative fixtures. The others to score 100 points were the Wellington and Auckland full-backs, M. W. Williment and M. C. M. Cormack, and the Hawke’s Bay flanker, A. G. Small. The latter's 20 points against East Coast was the best individual effort in any one match.
For the third occasion in four seasons, B. E. McPhail (Nelson) was the leading try scorer in first-class matches. The former Canterbury and All Black wing three-quarter’s total was 14, bringing his career aggregate to 58. M. J. Dick (Auckland), the All Black reserve back, scored 11 tries, and D. R. Stephen (Canterbury) was third with 10. The new All Black first flue-eighth, M. H. Herewini (Auckland) kicked more dropped goals—five—than any other player. The leading scorers for the season were:—
