When Parliament resumed yesterday morning the Church Property Trust (Canterbury) Amendment Bill and the Otago Presbyterian Board of Property Bill were each introduced and given a first reading.
The House then discussed the Estimates and the following classes were approved (amounts actually spent in the previous year are shown in brackets): Department of Scientific and Industrial Research. £2.351.000 (£2,192,681); Department of Education, £51,700.000 (£47,830.245). The House rose at 4.10 p.m. until 2.30 p.m. on Tuesday.
