WAHINE Club CONCERT

Two Presentations Made

A special feature of the annual tanes* evening held by the Christchurch Wahine*’ Club last night was the presentation by the president (Mrs Ella Blazey) of two donations to the Canterbury branch of the New Zealand Foundation for the Blind and the Girls’ Training Centre, Burwood The money was presented to two former speakers to the club. Mrs H Sinclair, instructor in Braille at the foundation, and Mrs Kathleen Ford, director of the Burwood centre.

Both were guests of honour for the evening. "Also present were other persons who had address -* the club or provided entertainment during the year Decorations in the Jellicoe Hall featured the traditional brown and white painted Maori pa "gateway " Items included comedy sketches, Scottish country dancing, items by the club's choir, under the direction of Wahine Marian Harrison, vocal, piano accordion, recitation and dance items and • six-handed pianoforte presentation.

The accompanist for the evening was Wahine Doris Blyth. More than MO attended
