fN.Z.P.A .-Reuter— Copyright f NEW YORK. Sept. 30. The Los Angele* Dodgers last night lost their chance to snatch the national league title when they crashed 0-2 to the St. Louis Cardinals.
The loss put them one game ahead of the San Francisco Giants, with one game left for each team.
The Cardinals picked up their two runs in the second innings because of Frank Howard's three-base error.
That was all the lead pitcher. Ernie Broglio, needed, as he gave up only’ a pair of hits and struck out nine men in mowing down the Dodgers. Results :
National League.—Milwaukee 7, Pittsburgh 3; New York 2, Chicago 1; San Francisco 11. Houston 5 (first game); Houston 4, San Francisco 2; St. Louis 2, Los Angeles 0.
