LOCAL BODIES RAISED £216,840 IN SEPTEMBER
Local bodies in the Christchurch area raised £216.840 in September this year—£67,ooo more than in August, but the lowest September total since £164330 was
raised in September, 1958. The Christchurch Drainage Board, with £183410 subscribed, was the biggest borrower last month. At the beginning at the month the board came on toe market with a £200,000 toen. and yesterday placed a further £109,000 loan on the market Officers of toe board were pleased with last month’s rate of subscriptions, and hoped to place the greater part of the new £lOO,OOO loan this month.
