Cheviot Profit In Good Year
After allowing £156 for taxation for the year ended March 31. 1961. and £lB4 for transfers to special funds, the Cheviot Trotting Club made a profit of 31 15 19« r the s ' eaT en<led March This compared with a profit of £489 for the previous year according to the profit and loss account attached to the annual report of the president. Mr J. F. Wade. Rent of the Rangiora Raceway. at £7OO. was the largest item of expenditure during the year, and the largest single source of Income was from the combined Cheviot-Rangiora race meetings. from which the Cheviot club received £l5lB. During the year the Cheviot club’s assets increased bv £lOOO, Mr Wade said in his report, which was presented to the annual meeting on Wednesday night. Three new members—Messrs J. Dalton. T McGowan, and W Fitzgibbon—were elected to the committee at the annual meeting Other officers elected were:— President. Mr J. F. Wade; vice-presidents Messrs A. M. Smith. A. S Murray, C. Morrison, S. A. Clark: committee. Messrs A. C. Partington, J. Beckett, D Morrison. W. Martin. A. P. Culloty, E. P Honevbone. L Burnett. E. Parr. W. J Elliott.
