ANTARCTIC TRAVERSE
Party Led By N.Z. Man
(N^PA..-Reuter—Copyright) CANBERRA, Sept. 25. A party led by a New Zealander, Mr Robert Thomson, has left the Australian Antarctic Base at Wilke®, to traverse 1800 miles across the Antarctic ice-cap The party consisting of Mr Thomson, four Australians and an American, will be away about four months to make seismic ice depth measurements. The measurement work will link up with work done by an Australian expedition in 1961 and seismic traverses by the Russians from their Vostok station, whidh the present party would visit The party is travelling by tractors.
