VACCINATION RESPONSE
Christchurch Worst In N.Z.
The response in the Christchurch health district to the Health Department's antipoliomyelitis campaign to date has been the worst in New Zealand.
With three days left in the month’s campaign, only about 56 per cent, of eligible persons have been vaccinated, compared with an average of about 70 per cent, for the rest of the country. Yesterday. 1919 persons in Christchurch were immunised. This brought the total for the district to 108.868, about 83,000 short of the local target.
Vaccine today will be distributed as follows:
Mass X-ray unit. Manchester street, 9 am. to 7 p.m.; Christchurch Airport. Miller's Ltd., Ballantynes Ltd.. New Zealand Farmers' Ltd.. Hay's Ltd.. Woolworth’s, High street and Colombo street, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.: and at the Health Department. Hereford street. 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
