Yacht Club Denies Responsibility The Pleasant Point Yacht Chib was not responsible for felling trees on property owned by the Christchurch Drainage Board, the club has said in a letter to the board. From reports of the board meeting it migiht be inferred that the club has had a hand in cutting down between 150
and 200 trees, but this was not so. the club said.. “Our club is handicapped by trees blocking the spectators’ view of our races, but we are not so foolish as to tread on the toes of the body that governs our sailing waters,” the letter said
