SHIPPING EXPORTS

Investigation By Farmers (NJ4. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Sept 19. The Auckland province of Federated Farmers is to investigate shipping companies outside the Conference Lines to see whether they can supply. a regular service to shift produce from New Zealand. A remit from the meat and wool section asking the president and secretary of the Auckland executive to carry out investigations of the shipping companies was adopted today. The chairman of the meat and wool section (Mr A. H. Coombe) said that what was wanted was a yardstick to measure the Conference Lines’ charges and service. Mr Coombe said that too often people just said that no outside lines could carry the produce. "Some of the outside lines are very interested .in getting our contracts,” he said.
