SEARCHING FOR UNDERWATER REBELS.—Riding in small sampans, troops of the 21st Vietnamese Division sweep across the flooded Plain of Reeds, south Vietnam, in search for underwater Viet Cong rebel hide-outs. Guerrillas can stay underwater for hours using a simple bamboo breathing tube. The troops are being ferried by local Vietnamese peasants.
