The share price index lost a net nine points in September up to September 17 but made a half-point recovery on September 18, and a 2i point rise on September 19 Rises by the three market leaders on Wednesday were A.C.I. 61s (up Is 9d). B.H P. 53s 9d (up Is with sales up to 54s 6d> and C.S.R. 49s 6d 'up Is 6dc Mount Isa slumped from 63s 9d to 58s on news of the sharp setback in profit, recovered to as high as 66s 6d and closed at 655. Ready ' Mixed Concrete and I Brambles both slumped to I new lows for the year before ! recovering about Is to 12s ,6d. Brolite (one for four!. 'Linedman (two for five) and ;Osti (one for 10> have announced bonus issues at the iend of this week. Australian Chemical dropped from 22s 3d to 18s before the news of the company’s halved profits were announced. The price has since fallen further to 17s. Cargo Distributors, the new company arising from the Rudders-Green McCand- ! lish merger was listed on Monday. The only sale of the 5s shares has been recorded at 8s 6d. A.O.G. has fluctuated in a narrow range around 565-57 s after last week’s spirited rise from 51s 3d to as high as 59s 9d.
