CATCHMENT BOARD

Nomination Not In Order

Mr C. F. Whitty, who was nominated by the Christchurch Citizens' Association for one of the four city seats on the North Canterbury Catchment Board, has been found not to have the residential or rating qualification. He now lives in the Waimairi county. He was selected for nomination about two months ago, but it was only after his nomination was lodged with the returning officer (Mr C. S. Bowie) yesterday that it was realised that he did not have the qualification for the board. Nominations will close at noon tomorrow for all local body elections. It is likely that the Citizens’ Association will now choose Dr. W. Roy Holmes, an eye specialist, to complete its Catchment Board ticket.
