FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—An anti-cyclone covers New Zealand. A shallow depression in the north-west Tasman Sea is moving south-east. A weak cold front is approaching the South Island from the south-west. Forecast:— West Coast.—Moderate northerly winds predominating; clqudy with occasional light rain in South Westland. Outlook: partly cloudy. Nelson, Marlborough and Canterbury.—Moderate to fresh winds from a northerly quarter; partly cloudy; moderate to mild day temperatures. Outlook: mainly cloudy.
