Butchers Want More Hours
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. Sept. 18 Auckland butchers will open negotiations to have their trading hours extended by four hours and a half a week, to meet competition from pre-pack meat retailers and a trend by workers for longer shopping hours, according to the president of the Auckland Master Butchers' Association (Mr E. Mitchell). Last night, most of the 70 butchers present at a meeting of the association voted in favour of the move.
