New Bid By Brierley
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. Sept 18 A cash offer of 35s a share has been made by R. A Brierley Investments. Ltd . for the 15.000 ordinary shares in South Wellington Pictures and Investment Co, Ltd The offer places a value of £26.250 on the business, which has a capital of £15.000 in £1 shares. The offer is subject to acceptance by holders of at least 51 per cent, of the issued capital. The shares in the company, which owns the Ascot Theatre, are rarely traded, the last sale recorded being in January of 1961 at 22s They are not quoted on the official list R A Brierley Investments proposes, if its offer is accepted. to continue the business of the Ascot under the present management and staff, but it also intends to begin negotiations for - another theatre.
